Mailing lists allow you to send emails to multiple recipients using a single email address. This is useful for newsletters, internal team communication, or announcements. With cPanel, creating and managing mailing lists is easy through its built-in Mailman mailing list tool.
Step 1: Access the Mailing Lists Feature
Log in to your cPanel account.
Scroll to the Email section.
Click on Mailing Lists.
Step 2: Create a Mailing List
Under Create a Mailing List, fill in the following:
List Name: Choose a name (e.g., team, newsletter).
Domain: Select the domain you want to use (e.g., yourdomain.com).
Password: Set a secure password for managing the list.
Click Add Mailing List.
Once created, your mailing list email address will be:
listname@yourdomain.com
Step 3: Access the Mailing List Manager
To manage subscribers and settings:
Scroll down to the Current Lists section.
Click Manage next to the list you created.
You will be redirected to the Mailman interface, where you can:
Add/remove subscribers
Moderate messages
Set posting permissions
Customize automatic responses
Control privacy and archives
Step 4: Add Subscribers
Inside the Mailman interface, go to the Membership Management section.
You can:
Manually add email addresses.
Allow users to subscribe via a signup form or email.
Upload multiple users at once (bulk addition).
Step 5: Send Emails to the List
To send an email to all members:
Simply compose an email to listname@yourdomain.com.
Make sure only authorized users (based on list settings) are allowed to send messages.
Security Tips:
Set moderation if you want to approve each message before it’s delivered.
Use strong passwords and restrict who can manage or post to the list.
Avoid using open subscription to prevent spam bots.
To Delete or Edit a List
Back in cPanel > Mailing Lists:
Click Delete to remove a list.
Click Change Password to reset list admin credentials.
