Importing a database using phpMyAdmin is a straightforward process. Follow these steps;
Log in to phpMyAdmin: Open your web browser and navigate to your cPanel then go to the database segment and open phpMyAdmin.
Select the Database: Click on the database name on the left-hand sidebar where you want to import your data
Choose Import: Look for the “Import” option in the top menu bar.
Upload the SQL file: Click on the “Choose File” or “Browse” button to select the SQL file containing your database. Ensure the file is within the upload size limit allowed by your server.
Import Settings: Verify the import settings. Usually, the default settings work fine, but if you have specific requirements, modify them accordingly.
Initiate Import: Click the “Go” or “Import” button to start the database import process. This might take some time, depending on the file size and server specifications.
Confirmation: Once the import is complete, phpMyAdmin should display a message confirming the successful import.
If the SQL file is too large, you might encounter upload size limitations set by your server. In such cases, consider breaking the SQL file into smaller parts or using other methods like command-line tools (like MySQL command-line client) to import larger databases. Login to cPanel and go to file segment then click on Backup
Go to Restore a MYSQL database backup click on choose file and select your database file with SQL extension from your device and upload.
